Randy L. Compton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Randy L. Compton, age 66, of Wheatfield, IN passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at VNA Hospice of Valparaiso after a long battle with cancer. Randy was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 6, 1953 the son of Melvin and Winona (nee Lowe) Compton. He attended Crown Point High School and after graduating joined the U.S. Army. Randy was most recently self-employed in the salvage business. He was a member of the American Legion Post #261 in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Randy enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time. Randy is survived by his children: Jason (Mary Duke) Compton of Francesville, IN; Rebecca Compton of Crown Point, IN; siblings: Melvin Jr. (Linda) Compton of KY, Michael (Carla) Compton of KS, Donald (Dena) Compton of IN, Theresa (Jerry) Johnson of OK; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: George and Terry Joe Compton, and nephews: Michael, Brian, and Rickey. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of DeMotte on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Randy’s wishes were to be cremated and Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte has been entrusted by the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post #261.
