Curtis S. Williams

Curtis S. Williams, age 60, of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. He was born on October 22, 1959 in Rensselaer, Indiana. Curtis was the son of the late Donald and Madge (Hopkins) Williams. Curtis enjoyed all sports. He was a Senior member of the 1978 RCHS undefeated football team and graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with his Class. He attended Indiana University, Bloomington, the next year. Curt worked in the maintenance department at the former St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer. He received fulfillment from his job and devoted over 20 years to the institution. Curt was also a huge Chicago Bears Football and Chicago Cubs Baseball fan and enjoyed cheering and watching his teams with his nephews. Curt grew to love & appreciate the outdoors and enjoyed growing a variety of vegetables in his garden. He was also a kind hearted individual and animal lover. He would never turn away a stray cat and gave them all food, shelter and a home. Curtis is survived by his mother, Madge Williams of Rensselaer; significant other, Jeannie Fisher; siblings, Mike Williams of Hobart, Indiana, Randy (Shari) Williams of Rensselaer, Norm (Carol) Williams of Rensselaer and Donna (Bill) Nemeth of Wheatfield. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, two nephews and one great-nephew. Private graveside services will be held at Independence Cemetery at a later date. Integrity Funeral Service & Cremation of Wheatfield has been entrusted to his arrangements.
